University of California, Irvine Medical Center Insignia –

Administrators of the University of California, Irvine Medical Center came to Dinsmore & Associates to create the insignia for the university and medical center. Arriving with a simple napkin sketch, Dinsmore was able to reverse engineer the 2-D simple drawing into a 3-D solid model. Using the Stereolithography (SLA) machine for further refinement, the team went through a few design iterations based upon the guidance of the Administrators.

After a final SLA part was made and approved, Dinsmore & Associates developed 30 models using RTV Mold and Plastic Casting that were sent to the Medical Center’s top administrators.

UC Irvine Medical center used the 3D CAD design generated by Dinsmore & Associates to create the full size product that now hangs proudly as part of the signage for the University’s Medical Center.
